Doris MacDougall is Canadian Artist living in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was born in Vancouver and raised in North Vancouver. She studied Fine Art as well as Clay and Fibre at Capilano College graduating in 1981. She is active in the Vancouver and North Vancouver Art Communities. Her work is in many private, corporate and public collections.
Drawing has always been the core of Doris’s work, whether it be drawing with ink and pencil on paper or drawing directly into wet paint. She likes to combine a variety of materials and techniques.
She is inspired by her beautiful west coast surroundings, often focusing on small things in the garden and landscape, including plants she has tended to. She goes out into the garden and landscape to draw and paint throughout the year, recording life in the ever changing garden.
